In my tests, printing to a ps and calling lp doesn't work. But the error

I checked out the trunk for gnome-keyring-daemon from svn.gnome.org,
installed gnome-devel and recompiled (installing with --prefix=/usr -
ugly, but not likely to break things worse than they are now!). I
restarted gdm and could now log in fine (and the daemon did not even
crash after login).

I am running hardy. I ran telinit 1 , I wanted to switch to single user
mode so I could extend a partition. I was unable to unmount /home , it
said the device was still busy. I found that this was because the
following was still mounted
I ran umount /home

Hi:
I just finish the up grade true the actualization utility, after the restart,
some programs failed to initialize, this was one of them, I followed the window
instruction and sent a report, after reading some of the former comments at
this post, I turned Rhythmbox again, and it is working jus
Confirmed, happens for me using a fresh install of the final release on
i386. I tried it several times with several reboots. the window does not
launch. the harddisk keeps clicking forever.

Yeah it is some kind of permission error. Running as sudo allows

Whenever I download a proprietary application such as Adobe Air, Google
Earth or RealPlayer 11 ( these come in .bin ) I am not able to open them
with a simple double click, if I attempt this I get a message from
nautilus saying:
There is no application installed for this file
This makes "Resources" almost useless for me. About 10% of the window is
used for data. As described above, the rest is 10 numbers, huge icons, a
couple of chartoons (for memory use) and a lot wasted space.

After getting the official 8.04 I decided to give an other try to HD
audio in my Gigabyte G33M-DS2R system. Now it seems to work. The mic
input has quite a bad static hissing noise but that is an other story.
In my previous posts I forgot to mention I use ALSA.
Why does it work now, what fixed it?
