The xulrunnerpatch didn't fix the bug for me. I had to disable the offscreen
pixmaps to get rid of the bug.
Can there be any downsides in disabling this xaa option?

My hardware is an IBM Thinkpad R60. Ubuntu 7.10 and Sound Juicer 2.20.1
as mentioned above.
What is funny in this, i tried another CD now, and now I have lost the
choice to make MP3 again. I will have another look at it later today, if
something new shows up I will let you know.

The bug is bigger than this. Going to any page with a self signed
certificate fails. This is on Hardy with an AMD64 processer.
When doing the same in firefox (3), it asks if you want to create an exception
for the self-signed certificate for this site. Epiphany otoh does no such

OK, I have ripping back working. I don't know what made it disappear,

I issued the following command to make it work again:

Setting in Sound Juicer is as before:

i found that was my filesystem that corrupted _socket.so... so it's not
a bug.

I think there is a bug here. When I switched to Hardy, I was confused
because subtitles weren't automatically loaded anymore. I first thought
about a bug and then checked in the preferences dialog. This option
wasn't there before.

the login the Scre3en remains white, but i still can flipp the cube; no

I agree with Guillaume Desmottes. Indeed, I was confused when totem
didn't show my subtitles. I checked the preferences dialog but didn't
see the first time the option to automatically load subtitles.

I also have this problem. the nfs server log gets flooded by mount
request for .TrashX. in my case it's the home directories that is
auto mounted and nautilus/gvfs tries to create directories in /home that
is never going to work
Something needs to learn to detect that /home/user and /home is n
I don't think the GNOME theme maintainers would add a hack to work
around Mozilla's problems.

The patched g-p-m seems to fix the issue of the screen not blanking and

If you took a look at the patches, you'd see that "hacks" already
existed in the theme engines' code (in Murrine and Ubuntulooks, at
least) specifically for Firefox 2. Removing said hacks fixes the problem
with button borders (GtkButton) but not text boxes (GtkEntry) in Firefox
3.

I would like to respectfully disagree with this being "invalid / file a
wishlist" for the following reasons:
* The feature was available in 7.10 along with the confusing and unpredictable
way it worked, but it was usable and better than nothing. As an end-user
upgrading I would be very disappoin
Same here - no panels at all (top or bottom) in Gnome. Ctrl-Alt-
Backspaced several times, even started X from terminal session and could
not get panels to reload. Restarted and panels are now present.
