The special rules in /etc/fonts/conf.avail/53-monospace-lcd-filter.conf are
there because some developers were vehemently against making the change to the
new subpixel rendering.
The file is a compromise they accepted since they work mainly in terminals
anyway.

I didn't see any reference to my observation re. the port number, and
thought it would provide a clue to whoever is fixing the problem. Also,
I am having to press "Send/Receive" 5 to 10 times to get a message sent,
which makes this bug critical.

configuring a few servers to use ntpdate, and I noticed the clock seems to

I can confirm this same problem with my Nokia 770. Using cp, gnomevfs-
copy, nautilus or konqueror to copy all lock up around 71 MB, regardless
if I'm copying over the files one at a time or en masse to a 2 gb card.
At that point, the card becomes corrupt and I have to reformat.

I have the same problem, first I run gdmsetup and have a lot of
assertion errors:

I thought of a different way to re-add zero: simply allow it as one of the
usable values. As it is right now, gnome-power-manager's indicated brightness
levels
(100, 85, 71, 57, 42, 28, 14, 0)
no longer match the indicated values in the dsdt:
(100, 87, 75, 62, 50, 37, 25, 12, and a true zero y
I believe this bug is due to the fact that gvfs does not do any authentication
for browsing a computer's shares (the smb-browse backend) whereas it does do
authentication for connecting to a share (the smb backend).
I've produced a fairly hacky patch that grafts authentication into the
smb-brows

I removed all the themes that gdmsetup let me remove, i think the only
ones left was Circles and the Happy GNOME themes, then reinstalled the
gdm, gdm-themes, ubuntu-desktop, ubuntu-themes and things like that, at

was disappointed that there was no way to turn off my monitor ( my
laptops screen, and the only active monitor ). I would prefer to just
have a warning, but again, I am strange :)
