This problem no longer seems to be reproducible on Hardy (Front sound
comes out of the front speakers, rear sound comes out of the rear
speakers and nothing else is not heard at all).

information is needed. Therefore could you please perform the following steps:
1. Close ekiga completely (so that the icon in the panel disappears)
2. Install libopal with the terminal command "sudo apt-get install
libo
Update: the delays and timeouts still happen, even if I kill the running
gvfsd/gvfsd-smb instance and let just my own. The delays are ~20 seconds
compared to the ~1.5 secs gnomevfs-ls (i.e. the old VFS backend) takes
to successfully display contents. No new output in the terminal-borne
gvfsd instan

browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground does NOT fix this under kwin. The
only difference in the behavior is that FF doesn't change desktops until
you make the desktop that has FF on it current:
- Place FF on desktop 2, Kontact on desktop 1.
- Click on a link in Kontact. FF will not move to desktop
The problem is that the sun-java6-javaws.desktop is incorrect. It currently
runs the viewer:
Exec=/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.05/bin/javaws -viewer
It should just be javaws when you want to send it a java webstart app so it
should be this:
Exec=/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.05/bin/javaws

I know but that issue is there since Feisty and I doubt it will be fixed
until Hardy's release, so it's better to obscure the problem for now.

even or odd, gvfs-ls shows the contents of the SMB share after about ~20
