When I do the same, it creates no file in /var/crash , the only files
are fspot and firefox crashes. Is there anyone who can reproduce this?

Happened to me as well, but with gnome-panel. I clicked the option to
automatically report the bug. I hope that is enough. since the
function call was the same one as mentioned here, but for gnome panel, I

Connecting my self on any ssh server using gvfs (and its sfrp) backend.
I can log on the server, and "see" the remote directory but I cannot

Tested the latest update as well. Gnome-settings-daemon seems to still
crash. Xgl does seem to work though, and compiz works as well. It is
just really slow compared to running Xgl on 7.10.

2: firefox opens the website => All ok
Since I'm a webdeveloper, and opens .html documents often to edit them I

Update: Since I upgraded to Hardy, I haven't been experiencing this
problem. I removed fix that I posted earlier in this thread, and haven't
had any issues.
The only thing that I can think of is that I'm no longer using XGL since

OK, I'm not sure if this is a bug in gnometris.
I tried to recreate this bug and I noticed that whenever it happens (not often,
btw -- maybe in 5% of the times) it always shows that the next block is going
to be the same as the current one, but then a different block comes.

Same issue on a dual core dell. Nothing extra installed. Upgrade from
Gusty. Don't use evolution. No wireless. I have other issues with
networking that are annoying. The nm-applet is constantly spinning and
sometimes it takes 10-15 minutes to get a solid DHCP connection.

This is still an issue with all updates to Hardy on 3/28/2008. There is
also another bug tracking this with much less information. Someone on
the Ubuntu team should collapse into a single bug that is still open,
active and a high priority and possibly linked upstream. The other bug

Can you try to reproduce the same with another new user created on your
system? that's maybe something broken in your configuration, and I've
tried to reproduce this and gnometris works fine here with hardy too,

I think forking gedit is a little overboard. I am sure that a simple
patch is all that is needed, and could be provided for those of us who
need a resolution before the gedit dev's get around to fixing this.
I even think that a gedit plugin could probably be written to provide
