I've logged out and logged back in (also did sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart) but
it the problem is still there, even though netstat says it's an established
connection, the window doesn't respond after some time.

I have experienced this issue on a Gutsy machine. I have attached a ZIP
file of two TIFFs that cause it for me. I took a backtrace while it was
hanging and it appears to be happening while scaling the images into

I can confirm that in Hardy 64bit up-to-date on my dell xps m1330
brightness controll does not work correctly:
-brightness FN keys seem to send double events: Pressing one time FN+Up
or FN+Down changes brightness by 2 levels. Instead of having 8 levels it

HI, I think the problem has to do with the Soundblaster Board. It worked
perfect in Ubuntu 7.04. After that the Ubuntu team has screwed it
heavily.
Now I heard that it might not be due to Ubuntu per se but due to Gnome.

Interesting. It seems the bug has been fixed, because now I can access
to a floppy disk. However, it has a nasty side effect. When I unmount
the floppy disk, the floppy drive is not named "Floppy drive" anymore:
it's named "1,5 MB Media".

In Hardy, this issue with Sun Java is with *all* available browsers. Not

In 2.22.0-0ubuntu2 it would appear that both sliders are gone, I see
only a slider to control screen blanking delay.

I also have gotten this bug consistently. Right-Click "Applications",
select "Edit Menus" and edit a menu item. A window comes up indicating
that "Main Menu" has crashed, but it has not crashed and I can continue
to do what I was doing.
