Thanks for the extra info.
I think there are two possible fixes for this issue.
The problem is the g-c-c checks for "epiphany" in the path.
This is a shell script shipped by the epiphany-browser package
that just execs epiphany-browser. That is an alternative provided
by both -gecko and -web
Approved for Gutsy. Similarly to #165174 this needs a much more human
readable changelog. Both changes should be applied to the current gutsy
package and uploaded in one go.
I see to sponsoring this a little later.

It now correctly shows the status of the battery ( plugged in or discharging ),

Current Linux (and glibc) do suport very large files; you are running
such a system (Ubunut 7.10). I would like to get a bit more of data on

1. What is the underlying filesystem? Open a terminal window, and issue

I have the same problem with Ubuntu 7.10.
Almost all screensavers crash or freeze.
AMD 64 3500+ with ATI Radeon X600 Pro
Direct rendering active (retrieved with glxinfo | grep rendering)
Compiz active with Additional effects selected.

Effenberg0x0 -- it might be a good idea to gzip/bzip2/7-zip the core
before uploading... I just did an experiment here, and the core was 90M,
bzipped down to 11M. Sorry I forgot to check on the size.
