I have the same problem on Ubuntu 8.04 (alpha).
Single files work fine to delete, but not directories that are not empty.
I don't think I've seen this problem in earlier versions of Ubuntu (7.10 for
example), but I could be wrong.

I don't think that's the same issue. That bug deals with the play/pause
software button.
I'm talking about the keyboard shortcut. Currently you have to press Ctrl-Space
to do the play/pause. It should be just the space bar, like most other

The problem appears only when selecting diacritics characters, like Romanian:
ş,ţ,ă,î,â. Some random blind-selection (like showing selected a void area
instead of text) also appears, but only in files with that ch

After a clean install of Gutsy, I ran into this same problem. I tried
the fix that Henriël_Veldtmann suggested, and after about 2 weeks, I
haven't seen a problem since. I can't confirm the solution 100%, but

Indeed, the problem is displaying 'special' charecters... all others
work fine!
In German, it is "Ü", "ü", "Ä", "ä", "Ö", "ö" and "ß".

really hard to explain the method to open a document received on a
floppy for a first time user. Should I tell her to open the floppy,

between versions on update, the new tarball has an updated glib
requirement and doesn't use gnomevfs, you want to update control.in to
reflect that, you should add a Build-Depends on libglib2.0-dev (>= 2.15)

Ok, this reproduces the bug for me:
1. Open Evolution
2. Open the folder with the email
3. Click on the email
4. Enter your passphrase; Evolution asks twice for some reason
5. Watch the email-preview flash and the preview window is stuck with this
flashing no matter what I click on.
6. killall ev
Ok, tried do open the mail as well now in a seperate window, and it acts
the same way as the preview, so it has to be something in email-
rendering in general
