This bug is still not fixed in Hardy and can be reproduced without
compiz enabled.
Since gnome-power-manager is disabled when the bug happens, I think that
it's not the good package name. I change it for gnome-panel which should

I'll add a bit of clarification. With my 4th G iPod, I am able to view
and change playlists with rhythmbox in gutsy. However, none of the
changes are saved. When I unplug the ipod, the playlists are just as

The issue is weird, a reboot should not make any difference on the
software stack. How many people have the issue after restarting their

Confirmed on Hardy as well. This is likely a result of the inotify
tracking of a save-via-new-file-and-rename. For example, here is what
gnumeric does when saving:

I have the same problem. I'm almost decided to formatting the disk and
go back to ubuntu 7.10.
I've disabled all effects, but it doesn't change anything
