I've since realized that Ubuntu has the a module loaded by default to
control the frequency of AMD CPU's.
I run an Intel CPU so I disabled it. Everything seems to be fine since I

I can create a new profile. Sound Juicer needs to be closed and started
again to actually list newly created profiles. Then it works allright.

Like I said in a previous comment, when I remove "[Desktop Entry] in a .desktop
file on Hardy, it does not segfaults, so the problem should be gone in Hardy.
About your Nvidia card, it is unlikely to be because of your monitor, as

Ah, thanks. Your camera supports *both* mass-storage (i. e. behaves like
an USB hard disk) and PtP (libgphoto2 support).
Note to self: g-v-m should ignore the PtP interface if it sees
info.linux.driver = 'usb-storage'. A more robust solution would be to

Yes, the trace is missing some symbols, may you install the following
debugging packages: libstdc++6-dbg, libgtk2.0-0-dbg, libglib2.0-0-dbg
and get a new trace? Also a few easy steps for reproduce the crash
would be good to have, thanks for the help.

I should point out that there's a commend about () and (void) above this line
of code that I don't understand. If this is not the correct fix, please let me

I'm running gutsy on x86. This is upgraded from Feisty. I'll attach an
image from my Nikon that should have EXIF info but there is no option to
show the side pane for me.
