The bug is triggered in a straightforward way: X starts and the usual gdm login
screen appears. After the input of username and password the gdm screen stops
responding and nothing occurs. I am still able to go to a console using
ctl-alt-f2. I have attached the syslog and Xorg.0.log files.

My laptop suspends fine if I am logged in to a Gnome session and suspend

I can burn to a CD-R only if I haven't tried burning a CD-RW already. If
I've tried a CD-RW, the same thing happens when I try a CD-R until I
reboot (or probably just restart gdm, I'll get back to you on that).

This is not a compiz issue, the reporter wants other applications to use
the same shadow style as compiz in their fake shadows (the shadow on
pages in evince, etc).

I have a similar problem. Ever since I started using compiz, totem gets the
apect ratio wrong. Totem-gstreamer, totem-xine, all get the aspect ratio
inverted (3:4 instead of 4:3).
Using up-to-date gutsy, nvidia drivers, and compiz.

I don't have special effects enabled. It is with the Intel 950 adapter,
using the intel (modesetting) driver.
I hadn't tracked this for a while since I switched to the window
selector applet so I could get my work done. I just tried the window
list again, and the problem seem
Well, it was calm for a while, and then out of a sudden, it started
flickering like crazy again. I wish I knew what triggered it. I tried
closing applications until only a shell and browser windows remained,
but that didn't stop the flickering.
