I noticed this too, in the properties window for files and disks.
Esc is easier to press and to remember than ctrl+w.
If GNOME and Windows have all things different, it makes it difficult to
migrate from Windows to Linux. It should be as easy as possible.

Never-mind. I just ran "sudo apt-get update" and tried updating
everything again, and it all went through. The update software must've
chosen the right millisecond to check for updates. XD

I thought I'd also add to this bug just to say that this is definately a
problem. I've had this issue since as long as I can remember. You have
to be very accurate with the positioning of the mouse to get the resize
handle, especially for resizing from the corner of a window. It's very
hit-and-miss

If I end the xming session it crashes, this never happens on feisty before.
Something went totally wrong with xdmcp in gutsy, and i think taking every

Here is a strace of nautilus while starting up.
I started strace manually after logging in in gdm, so it may not be
totally complete.
Anyway, it seems there are lot of files that nautilus is opening but are
not there. This includes locale stuff and icons.

Note that with the default Human theme, I need to get the pointer to
within an area of 4 pixels at the edge of a window to be able to resize
it (I know I'm sad, I counted!) On a 1600x1200 monitor, this is a
difficult task, and requires great precision. I can't believe this is
marked as 'Wishlist'.

The bug appeared at my work pc where I use effects,
but also on my home computer where I don't.
I use 4 workspaces. The bug prevents me from changing
workspace by clicking on the switcher. It also makes it
impossible to move windows from one workspace to another
by dragging them within the switcher

Sorry about that, yes, I meant if I add my large library to the "watch
my library" section, then rhythmbox becomes unusable, taking several
minutes to do any basic operation..

Tracked down the apparent cause to libcairo's
debian/patches/02-cairo-1.4.8-lcd-filter-2.dpatch.
The bug reveals itself if sub-pixel rendering is enabled and rgba_order
'VRGB' is selected.
