Some quick testing. This error appears when you run Metacity as well but
the difference is that Metacity is seeing it as a crash, unlike Compiz.
I can replicate this about 1 in every 5 times (or so), simply by opening
the window. However, strace, ltrace and gdb are giving me nothing.

(Oct 14 2007 download). The top panel is at the top OK, but it is 1024
pixels wide though the screen is 1280 wide, and the bottom panel (same

Going in via SSH and changing gdm.conf by hand to use gdmlogin, instead
of gdmgreeter, makes GDM usable again, although obviously with the wrong
type of login module. I'm wondering whether 2.20.0-0ubuntu4 broke

format. gThumb and eog are raster viewers.
The librsvg library is used by gThumb and eog to convert the SVG image
into a raster format - automatically causing fuzziness. I'm not sure
what dpi/resolution is used in the vector>raster

I have got two gnome-panels on my desktop, one at the top and one at the
bottom of the screen.
After upgrading from Feisty to the Gutsy RC, I found my top panel
exactly as it was in Feisty, but the bottom one did only contain the
trash applet
George, that's not a "notification" in the sense that we're talking
about. "Notifications" are the little yellow bubbles that pop up now and
again.

Ah, the sample photo does have a "DateTime" tag, but it is full of
spaces!
I have patched gthumb to check for this. A fix will be in 2.10.7.

I have libtotem-plparser7 installed (I assume it was installed via a
dependency for something, as I didn't install it separately)
Maybe reinstall rhythmbox or libtotem-plparser7 to see if it is fixed?

In Gnome, I find that you are forced to run with "Show date" unchecked.
The change of date makes this bug more severe than it must seem to
upstream (whose default is unchecked IIRC rather than checked in
Ubuntu).
