Still happens in Gutsy (Ubuntu 7.10 alpha 5) using:
rhythmbox 0.11.2-0ubuntu2
nautilus 1:2.19.91-0ubuntu1
To reproduce the bug: in Nautilus go to a directory with an .ogg file,
double click on it, and an error message pops up [screenshot 1] saying:
"(name of song) cannot be opene
The restricted-manager and update-notifier tasks were added because this
comment was made in one of the duplicates:

it is caused by constructing the notification message before the icon is placed

browsing to the /net path works with no problem.
And this is mis-titled, because the problem only happens on /net (or

guess. I downloaded them from elsewhere and they came up like that.

Hi,
Just reinstalled feisty on my laptop with an ati x1600 video card. I
installed the fglrx driver according to this guide (the edgy version,
since xwindows would not start untill I had done this because of some
stupid bug in feisty). But I didn't edit the xorg.conf file like the
guide sais to. B

I tried emptying the vfat drive completely of all files (including
trash), and it still experienced the delay in first opening nautilus.
I tried reformatting the drive using gparted (which incidentally crashed
when it went to rescan the drives afterwards, and now my external drives
no longer autom
I went ahead and dl'd tribe 5 , all volumes in the box show in
places/computer and the nautilus sidebar including ones not in fstab.

Re my previous comment, after rebooting, my drives are auto-mounting
again, and now I can confirm a difference in operation between
automounting and manually mounting the drive:

I can consistently break automounting in tribe5 (although rebooting the
PC fixes it):
1. I Run gparted.
2. I tell it to unmount the external 120 GB USB drive. It does so (and
then crashes when rescanning devices).
3. I re-run gparted and tell it to format the external drive to FAT32.
It does so
I've recreated something similar under gutsy. Here's what I did:
(1) create an event that recurs weekly forever
(2) move the 2nd instance to a different day, different time, and different
length of time
(3) change all instances (selecting one from the normal time) to be a different
time and leng
