Upon first login under gdm, all is well,
Upon switching to a new User, the mouse cursor is no longer visible.
Brightening of icons occurs when the invisible cursor is drawn across them, and
mouse click does then initiate action.

I too have the same issue but it doesn't take minutes.. it still under 1
minute for session loading. I also don't have an nvidia and i use the
default generated xorg.conf file.
