When trying to postscript-print certain PNG images, I get a completely
black document instead of the image.
This bug appears to be in Ubuntu - Edgy Eft, back in Dapper Drake
everything works fine.

other distributions converted by alien to the bugs though. Testing
upstream code might be a good idea, installing packages made by alien is
usually not since automatic conversion from rpm to deb is not perfect

sub-menus from the gnome menu bar are sometimes displayed too short and
have arrows on the top and bottom as if they haven't enough screen
height to display (even though they do) when the gnome menu bar is on a

Normally, after 10 popups, I can see the files I have on the drive. But
if I select a file or a folder, another batch of popups appear... so in
fact I can't do anything since I have 20+ popups to fill

As stated above, opening files using sftp:// works on Debian, so it
should be possible to figure out the problem for an experienced person.

I don't understand your question. However, note that firefox was only an
example. Same thing happens in other places, such as "save as" dialog in
gedit. And the problem is only with modal dialogs (non-modal dialogs
have another problem with alt-tab...)
