one can unmount the usbdrives (same way as ejecting cd/dvd)
go to Places->Computer (or nautilus menu: Go-> Computer)
right click on the usbdrive you want to unmount. at the bottom of the pop up
menu select 'unmount Volume

You should get an "the app has crashed" dialog with a button "send upstreal'
when that happens. If that doesn't use gdb:
- gdb $(pidof nautilus)
(gdb) continue
... get is crashing
(gdb) thread apply all bt
and copy that

I am using dapper, constantly updated.)
I am not getting the crash dialog at all, so I can't use that way.
And the gdb program requires an executable; it won't work if I pass only
a pid:
$ pidof nautilus
5301
$ gdb 5301

I forgot to say that the above comment was made using a current Dapper.
But since the flickering only happens with ATI cards, I'd guess it is a
driver problem.

Thank you for your effort. The nautilus-dbg issue is probably because
you don't have activated breezy-updates for universe. The new backtrace
doesn't looks like to be a crash, did you do it when nautilus was
