Thanks. Under "Preferences" I can see that in fact /dev/sda1 is reported
as 486 GB.

Baobab reports extension size bigger than it is
What I see in your screenshot is that you have a Total Filesystem capacity of
2TB.
This includes every mount you may have in your system (including remote mounts)
and not disabled from Baobab preferences. GParted reports only local disks (and
in the screenshot you are showing just /dev/sda).
