I'm using empathy on gnome 3 and it seems quite the same bug. This is
what happens to me:
- When I send a message it comes back to me as notification.

This is not fixed properly for me, only half the issue is fixed. It's
still posting messages on the indicator FROM me while chatting in IRC??
