Does reinstalling python-gnome2 makes a difference? Do you have things
installed to /usr/local that could take over the distribution version?

your installation

Thank you for your bug. Do you have python-gnome2 installed? Does
running 'python -c "import gnome-vfs"' works fine for you? I don't get
that bug on my feisty desktop
