mine does not altogether "crash" the system, but I have choppy audio and
the visualization shows only a black screen... I use an Nvidea GeForce
5500 graphics card, I have the desktop visual effects set to none, and I
have a compatible driver enabled (though it is a generic driver, it runs

I'm getting the same type of freeze. When I click Visualization I get
alternating strips of purple and noise where the graphics should be, and
the system is completely frozen (takes hitting reset button on computer
case to reboot)
I'm using a new a new Ubuntu 7.10 install.

Thank you for your bug. What videodriver do you use? Could you attach
