I actually meant that this was not a showstopper for the whole of
Ubuntu. Clearly it spoils the game. That said, it has been fixed for me
for a while now - I'm on 12.10 now so I can't remember when it was
sorted.

noticeable as the board size increases.

It takes some time until the empty squares are released.
I have to wait about 1/3 second before I can play on...
