Further experimentation shows that reverting libvte9 to version 1:0.15.3-0ubuntu3 instead of the newly installed 1:0.15-4-0ubuntu1 makes gnome-terminal stable again. That is the bug would appear to be in the new version of libvte9. ** Also affects: vte (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Sta

Of course... I spoke to soon. I just went off to do some serious work, and was trying to setup my terminals in "the one true way" and gnome- terminal crashed when I opened up a new tab. I can reliably make it crash now by setting my terminal to maximised (for me 209x73) and then opening tabs. By t
