no i have define above in comment #9 that how can you get that log open
the chat window and have chat and follow the instructions in comment #9
that will save the log file and than developer will se that is there a

No, it's not the same bug as in #2 :
the message just does NOT appear in the chat window. I have to open the
history to see what was sent.
It's not about the indicator, it's about the message being notified, but
not appearing in the chat window.
What do you mean by "the empathy chat log file" ?

I'm still having this issue with Empathy 3.2.2 from ppa:jacob/comm. It
doesn't seem to be happening any less frequently for me with the newer
version. At least 50% of the time the first message in a conversation
is never displayed. The only way I can see it is by looking at the
conversation hist
It seems to be better with empathy 3.2.1-0ubuntu1~ppa0 from
ppa:jacob/comm :).

I have the same trouble. Can you confirm that you use Ubuntu 11.10 ?
1/ The contact send me a message. The notification buble appears with the text
and indicator turn blue.
2/ In the indicator, I click on the line bellow "IM". The line can be empty.
