There is memory functionality - it is in advanced mode using the "R"
buttons. To set a new variable you have to type it in the display, e.g.
x=5.
In Natty the R buttons were replaced with an "x" button which has a
popup that shows the currently stored values and allows new ones to be
more easily
This is also found in Natty. Even I had never used the memory feature, I
agree that it is an annoying bug.
