Title:
User unable to save attached
Whoopee! Finally fixed in Evolution 3.2 in Ubuntu 11.10.
And reference my my wondering above in #6: "The nuisance part of that is
that all my calendar, contacts, and so on and so forth would need
migrating if I opted to go the Thunderbird way. Let alone what happens
to syncing contacts via Ubuntu
Yup, I quite agree. The fact that this continues to be on the "too hard" list
may be one of the reasons that Thunderbird is apparently the default email
client Ubuntu 11.10.
The nuisance part of that is that all my calendar, contacts, and so on and so
forth would need migrating if I opted to go
This bug still affects Evolution 2.32.2.
Quite frankly I struggle to believe that you can't save embedded base64
images from a mail to a file. This is basic functionality for a mail
client in 2011. Noone, especially "mum & dad" users, should be expected
to have to do their own view source & base64
But if you really DO have to save a picture (reasonably) quickly:
- View the message source, select all, paste into a text editor, save the file.
- Install xdeview from the repos: I suggest you use Synaptic, because it didn't
install when I used the Software Centre.
- Open the text file with xdev
It is still an issue with Evolution 2.32.2 and Natty (both on 32 and 64
bit machines, and has been an issue for a way long time.
The only way I have found to save them is to copy the source and then
decode them with another app: way too much trouble.
This is an Evolution problem, not an Ubuntu on
