Have you tried burning to an ISO file and checking it? As noted in Bug
648283, this version of Brasero is producing total crap for image files,
too. Perhaps Maverick needs to revert to a known working version,
although it has been a while since there was a working version of
Brasero.

You are right. I was upset because I wasted at least 5 DVDs. And I am
glad I caught it before I delete the original.
Today I just started to use K3B. It is awesome. I found they still have
some user interface bugs but it seems to be reliable.
I guess I will stay away from Brasero for now.

To get you help faster, I suggest changing the title of this bug from
"Brasero is useless" to something along the lines of "files burnt to DVD
unreadable."

Just wanted to make sure that this wasn't a settings issue. I'm marking

I tried 12X and Auto max.
Both did not work. I tried other AVI and MKV files they seem to be OK.
However MKV files are not viewable on ubuntu so I have not checked
completely yet.
When I have a lot(4Gb) of jpg files, it seems to have a problem.
What should I do next?

Can you try manually lowering the burn speed (Should appear to be
something like 64X or 32X. Change it to something lower) to see if that
solves the issue?

Thank you for your response.
Bad DVD is like this.
When I see folders, files and size, it appears to be good. But when I
open it, it does not open. I found out that some of them are OK.
When I burnt bunch of JPG most of are bad. When I burnt few AVI big
files, only one file out of seven f
When you say "bad DVDs" do you mean that the DVDs are unusable in all
circumstances? Is it a video DVD, data DVD, or what? I am unsure if this
is an error in mounting or an error in burning at this point.
