I can reproduce this after installing appmenu-gtk and indicator-appmenu
on a fresh daily install, so it's likely a duplicate of

Yes, with a new user profile the same thing happens. It seems to be
reduced to around 10-15 seconds now.
I think you misunderstood, it's not about certain files, it's just when I open
any new Nautilus window, i.e. the "Home Folder", Desktop, ..., Computer
shortcuts on the Places menu or any shor

your system? what kind of files are those? svgs, jpg, bmp, etc? are
those located in your filesystem or in a remote one?
