It's been a while, nobody seemed to have cared about this anymore.
I for one started to take a closer look on btrfs and it's snapshot
functionality is one of it's most interesting feature to me.
So it wasn't long before I was searching for this particular feature to be a
part of nautilus.

There's a patch for Nautilus on the opensolaris/sun site.

that's an upstream request. The Ubuntu team doesn't have the resources
to work on that for the moment.If the Nautilus developers accept the
change we can ship it otherwise i don't think we could spend efforts on
