I'd postponed the maverick upgrade to this weekend, since I didn't have
much time last.
I can confirm the issue (at least in my case) seems to have disappeared
with the maverick upgrade. No crashes in the first 10 minutes of that
video file.

a different timeframe, but does not remove it.

I'm having the same issue. In a specific .mkv file, about 40 seconds in
(and if I skip that, again 1:40 and 2:30 minutes in) the player crashes
with the message 'Aborted'. ?field.comment=I'm having the same issue. In
