It is ridiculous that we lost this feature when default (and ubuntu-
notifier-blessed) chat client was changed from pidgin.
Please try to fix this!
Or just vote to change back to pidgin!

It is even worse that it is also resetting the status message. If I'm
logged in with another client (Gtalk on Android phone), the status gets
reset on both and the message is lost on both and I may not even notice
it...

After I quit empathy and start is again my status is available though I set it
to away.
