just wanted to report that I installed the updated packages, and had no crash
during the past two days.
probably evolution will die on me within the next 10 minutes, but as of now,
the bug seems to be gone for me.

So it seems this bug is a collection of different issues, not easy to work
through those. Could users still have a bug after those updates

Installing evolution-data-server 2.28.3.1-0ubuntu5 from lucid-proposed
seems to solve my crash problems.
Before I could reduce the crash frequency by only having one or two mail
accounts active.
After installing evolution-data-server 2.28.3.1-0ubuntu5 I've run
Evolution 15 hours by now with five
which update? there has been 2 updates on the bug
