Further to previous email, I can confirm that although not visible on the desktop (I have two - I checked both of them), Rhythmbox was still showing as running by the system monitor. Also, having ended the process from the system monitor, I tried starting Rhythmbox again. To cut a long story shor

OK, I've just tried all this again. First of all, I have reason to believe that this might be partly or even entirely a display issue (ie: to do with how the desktop UI is displayed) Secondly, and rather bizarrely, Rhythmbox seems to be refusing to create a logfile at all today, so no new logfile,
