I have enclosed the export of dpkg --get-selections.
As you can see, the restricted-extras package is available.
The issue I reported could be split is two:
* the dependency in Rhythmbox for playing files, maybe add an extra
report function fo
(or rather, kubuntu-restricted-extras since you are in kubuntu)
