Thanks for reporting this. It was quite unfortunate that it can no
longer be reproduced. I hope you understand that not much can be done
without knowing the filetype or filename, so I'm afraid I'll have to

The problem is I can't replicate the problem anymore - I just deleted
quite alot of a files and it just worked, and can't remember exactly
what the files were.

I have experienced this sort of thing before (bug #35434), but we really
need to know which file caused it. It would have been caused by Nautilus
attempting to generate a preview.

Creating such a file doesn't crash nautilus here. Is this on i386? Do
you remember what other files you had (because I take it that you can no
longer reproduce the problem)? If you can reproduce it, please install
the nautilus-dbg package and attach the backtrace here. Thanks for

It only occurs when I navigate to my home directory. Nautilus works fine
until my home directory is opened.

Strange.
I deleted a few files and folders in my home directory, and it loaded fine. One
of the more suspicious files was called index.html?u=sam~
