The previous Ubuntu logo in the RC release was so much better. I can
see this new boxed logo potentially confusing new users into thinking
that the Ubuntu "button" is actually a separate menu item (much like the
Apple menu in the Mac OS and OS X) when it is not.

I originally raised the issue of the old flat icon next to nice gadient/3d
icons.

The button concept was shot down by the art team, which is why up until now, it
was the improved 3d-ish icon. I haven't a clue why this was implemented
The box emphasises that the logo is not just a logo but you can actually press
it. Therefore i like it. It could be further to the left though.
I am quite happy how the four easy to reach edges of the desktop are used with
dapper.

The old logo (which still appears to be used for the alacarte menu
entry) was much cleaner and more professional looking, IMO. Can we
pretty please, with sugar on top, revert this ASAFP?

looks like stolen from OS-X Aqua with that border around it, please
revert it it doesnt fit with the rest of the icon set and in case you'd
use it in a real button (for a self written gui app for example) it
would have two button borders around it.

The same view, new distributor logo icon doesn't respect the difference
between "icons" and "buttons" and should be reverted to the previous
one. I'ts actuall buttonized/boxed state is very unconsistent to the
Human theme and doesn't fit the "Aplication" menu item, to which it
