im still having this issue..
i put a dvd in & it unmounts the dvdrom where u cant even c 2mount it..
i think its the same issue.. may be wrong..

Yes
Put dvd in drive
SOMETIMES it happens sometimes it may unmount in the middle of something else
like write or wipe
but does not mess up write
but wipe makes dvd RW unusable(not the disk, RW works fine in windows)
my 2 cents
may be notify related

This is still happening everytime I plug in an external device like a camera or
also as stated when I insert a dvd to write
a message will pop up on desktop that device is unmounted/mounted/unmounted
