I think this is a user error. The dialog box asks not only shows available
xmodmap files but requests user's action to select one of them, click Load
button and then ok. It appears to be that it shows files that are going to be
load automatically, but it is not so. It's just a list in the right
10.04 default install, vanilla correct .xmodmaprc is not loading at all.
The dialog box appears asking to load it, but actually never does. Only
manual load works.
