Same problem with my ipod touch 8gb. My old ipod classic 30gb works well
in rythmbox.

The same type of thing is happening to me, Ubuntu is not recognizing my
ipod at all, nothing pops up at all when I plug my ipod into the
computer. I go to rhythm box and it still does not read my Ipod, it use
to always read my Ipod, it has not since we have done the last update.

changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed

1. Yes it is reproducible.
2. Plug in my ipod using a usb cable and then launch Rhythmbox and my ipod does
not appear anywhere--even if i unplug the usb and plug it in again.
3. Ipod icon shows up and i can click it and it opens up and shows the DCIM
folder on the ipod
