whatever an user software do the system should not hang, that's not a
totem bug

the system completely freezes so i have to use the power button. but after the
movie player hangs it takes about 7-10sec before the system freezes.

are you able to ssh into the machine or it hangs completely? that maybe
it's a kernel hang.
