A small update, I can browse the folders with videos, and if
thumbnailing is enabled they even got thumbnails correctly. The bug
happens only if i try to open the video file, i.e. dbl-click on it in
nautilus.

comment 9 is my apport-collect for nautilus, and I think I'm experiencing the
same bug with a little twist.
In my case opening a video file larger than 1GB (it was a few divx files in
this case) with any video application (tested with totem, vlc, mplayer) through
nautilus will cause nautilus to
It'd be helpful to know exactly why Nautilus is opening the file in the
first place. I know that's not the easiest of information to get, but
you can do it with gdb if you set a watch in the right place.
Normally we'd just pass it off to libgnome-desktop and it'd open
(gnome,totem)-video-thumbnail

In time I will try to debug this one a little myself and provide more
details. Here's what I got so far:
Browse to a folder containing one mkv file with valid header and video
data. Switch nautilus view a few times, between icon and detailed, but
not too fast. If you use your
