You say it is saved as a .pls file (a playlist). I suspect the .pls
file refers to a movie file that you have moved (you can open the .pls
file in a text editor to see where it is looking for the movie).

it is saved to my desktop as .pls but is saved as .mov in my
e-mail. i tried changing it back and it still wouldn't open.
