okay basically, there was a bug in alarm-clock that caused the entire
desktop to freeze. the reason this bug is filed separately is because
the bug in alarm-clock was fixed, but python should not be able to
freeze the entire desktop like that. Here are the details i linked to
and how to reproduce.
the comment suggests that alarm-clock is buggy, if you think that's
rather a gtk bug could you add a small gtk testcase?

That's what the links are for. There are details and a test case. To see
an application that does this, try the version of alarm-clock that
shipped with jaunty. Simply start it and the screen will freeze.
