After consulting the KLUG, this is a behaviour in Nautlius.
In the preferences, go to the preview tab, then change "Show thumbnails"
to "always" instead of local only.
So this isn't bug - but perhaps the default setting has changed since
the move to Jaunty? :)

It does it over both SSH and Samba - so I'm not sure how that could be
server specific. And the same occurs with pictures on the root of the
share (where there are no spaces) - i.e
smb://192.168.0.113/share/
I'm using no user authentication for SMB, and standard user/pass for SSH
which is held in
right, nautilus do that correctly there, the issue could be specific to
your server or due to the spaces in the server or directory name, since
you have a setup to trigger the bug you are better placed to reply to
upstream questions though

I just loaded up my EeePC which has a clean, up to date Jaunty UNR and
I'm seeing the same issue as with my Desktop. It's a bug that isn't
particularly major and might get looked over - but I thought I'd report
