Yes, I managed to work around the problem by disabling "Empty Trash
Folders on Exit [Every Time]" under (Edit -> Preferences -> Mail
Preferences).

I've submitted bug #37964 which was closed as duplicate of this one.
Today I had a crash when exiting and this is the backtrace. Hope it helps. I'm
not sure if it is the same problem or not though.
Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/evolution-2.6'
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i
