Correction, I just saw that your are using Ubuntu Intrepid (8.10). Step 2 will
only work from Jaunty (9.04) on, for Intrepid (8.10):

elsewhere (e.g. printer icon on system tray)?
2) Please run the following command on a terminal for gathering usefull
printing related debugging information:
