I was having this issue as well, whenever I would open a file open/save
dialog box the program that called for the box would hang, fade to gray,
hang for a few more seconds, then launch the box. Seems it was a
tracker-indexer issue for me as well. I killed the tracker-indexer
process and everything

I have this this problem with the Save As dialogue box with jaunty, and
also had it with intrepid.
It occurs on many programs, including gedit, firefox, and openoffice.
I do not have tracker installed.
The dialog box opens and stays blank for about five seconds, then the
