XDG folders are special locations - that's why they have their own icons.
The same kind of differentiation isn't possible in the context of the UNIX

Upstream is not too slow, there is 2 weeks before 2.14.1 and we can still patch
the package after that if upstream agree on the idea

user directory (desktop, sidebar, toolbar) but the discussion is up to them

Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? Could you make a
screenshot of the issue? The user directory has a special icon on my dapper
box, browser from the panel or from nautilus or from the desktop
