comment on the upstream bug tracker:
"We now have settings for default size of the terminal. I don't think we want
to remember the last used geometry.
The user may have been referring to the session save stuff?"
That was closed as wontfix if you disagree please comment on the
upstream bts.

I tested this with a Live CD of Ubuntu 8.04 and was not able to get
GNOME Terminal to remember the size from when it was last launched. As a
result, I am going to mark this as "Wishlist" since I cannot confirm
that this feature was present in a previous release. If this is in fact
a regression, and

- I remember having seen this but in intrepid too, but it disappeared after
some time.
