That seems to be a problem with the lack of DFS support in the samba
implementation. The folders in the share I see are links to other
servers.

Similar problem here with a fresh installation of Dapper Drake from the
Desktop CD. FTP and SSH work fine, only SMB does throws above error
message. Furthermore, SMB does let me see the directories on the share
after a connect but does not allow me to browse any further within
Nautilus (again above
I've tried to connect to an FTP server as you described and it seems to
be working fine.
Can you confirm if you still have this issue with the current release?
If yes, is it just some particular protocols that are giving this error?
